Shakespeare Santa Cruz has earned a national reputation for producing innovative and intelligent Shakespeare productions, as well as other classics, in its unique outdoor amphitheater. Founded in 1981 SSC is a professional resident theater that draws on the intellectual resource's of the University of California Santa Cruz, and a national network of professional artist. Now in its third decade, SSC has performed over 75 plays, offers various community programs that entertain and inform, and a celebrated touring outreach program, Shakespeare To Go, for high school and junior high students. The 2007 Festival season, July - September, offers Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest, J. M. Synge's Playboy of the Western World, and Sammuel Beckett's Endgame. Enjoy the show!
