Create fun crafts that feature the cool creatures of the tidepools. Make a seastar suncatcher, or create your own sea anemone! There are activity sheets, scavenger hunts, and a take home souvenir of your day.

Oak Restoration Stewardship | May 25
Join other volunteers and help with weeding invasive plants, placing mulch and removing trash from an oak restoration site. It is best if volunteers wear layered clothing for the temperatures can change rapidly. Tools and a light snack provided. Bring plenty of drinking water and wear sun protection.

Santa Cruz Birders - Overnight at Long Ridge Open Space Park | May 28-29
Visit one of the most lovely parts of the Santa Cruz mountains where you have a chance to find some awesome birds. Long Ridge Open Space offers upper elevation forests and grassland edge, and outstanding views! Highlights may include Chipping Sparrow (one of the last places to find them in the county), five species of nesting (and singing) warblers, Lazuli Bunting, Cassin’s Vireo, Pileated Woodpecker and more. $25 camping fee. Meet at 7:00 a.m. at the Achistaca Trailhead, located along Hwy 9 - 13.7 miles up from the Hwy 236 junction or .45 miles from Hwy 35 junction. Allow 50-60 min. to drive up from Santa Cruz.
